"A cyclist in Boulder County was injured after a run-in, literally, with a bear."

He is just really lucky the deer was there to save him, or this could have gotten ugly.

It was another great night in Mesquite for Lexie and I. We started off with a little Bingo, where Lexie won a sweet Presto Kitchen Kettle. Afterwards we decided not to push our luck and left the Bingo room and moved onto the Penny Slots to close out our evening. Then we both started doing pretty well and ended up walking out of the Casino $53 dollars on top of what we started with. All in all, I would say it was a pretty good night.

40th Anniversary

I realize you would never believe that we are old enough to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Well, we did it. We took the day off and left town so we wouldn't be around home to do any work. It was great. We had planned to go to breakfast, but didn't get up in time so we did lunch instead. We did a little shopping and visiting, then went to the movie. Afterward we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was a Great Day!!!

We got a Wii game. It took Dad a little while to get it set up. We played golf and we were both loosy at it, but it was fun. I know these courses are harder than the ones they play on TV. I mean for some of these courses you had to jump the water to little islands. Dad didn't want to be all sore in the morning so we fnally had to stop. Tomorrow I'm going to play him a game of bowling and beat the socks off of him. Wish me luck!

Hippi Camp

This weekend me and Brittney had the oppertunity to go camping with the Mecham family,(also extended mecham family). We spent the weekend up at Otter Creek, in a nice big cabin, (the only way to camp). There was roughly 25 of us, including children, and we had a gay old time. Our days were filled with EARLY morning fishing trips (apperently the fish are dumber when its still dark and cold outside), 4-wheelers, good food, and some evening card games.

The cabin contained several bedrooms along with a nice big loft full of mattresses to throw on the floor. Not to mention; the air-conditioning, big screen tv, and the portable satelite dish an uncle brought. (These guys have camping down to a science). The only thing was the cabin is still under some construction and hot water is still a work in progress. There are a couple jetted tubes on the premesis but only one shower the had poorly functioning warm water. I must have picked a bad time to try it because it didn't go well. But thats okay, its an excuse for me to be a bit smelly for a few days.

On Saturday night we had "hippie night." Everyone was to bring their best hippie out fit and get their groove on. As you can see from the photos, it was a big hit. Everyone dressed up, danced, laughed, and stuffed their faces.

In the process of prepping for hippie night I got the oppertunity to play dress up. Brittney found it comical that I had put on some lady clothing and decided to get some photographic evidence. She posted them on here blog and asked people to vote for the best look for me. Everyone at the cabin had a good laugh about it. My mother-in-law and father-in-law had somehow not managed to see the photos. They later got a look at them. My father-in-law seemed to be a little disturbed and/or concerned. Unfortunatly thats probably the thing that made me most proud of my lady pics. "I'm jealous of girls because they get to wear dresses" (Rod or Todd Flanders).

The black leather photo seen here seems to be the crowd favorite. (other outfits posted in the photo album)

I put some additional pics in a photo album on this site.

Brittney also posted several things on her blog if anyone is interested.(click on the attached link). You may want to write her blog address down, as she tends to be better at updating out lives than I am.

On a side note. Up at the cabin they had one of those toy horses with the four springs hooked to a frame, like the one us hadley kids had as children. It sparked a memory of me (GW) deciding to pee down one of the bars in the frame of this rocking horse. Does anybody happen to remember any details about me doing this why, when, punishment, etc. All I can remember is doing it and being out in the front yard, in the dark, with the hose cleaning it out. Just curious...Thanks.

Adventures at Denny's

Lexie and I decided to take a nice trip to Denny's tonight. I know most of you are wondering why in the world we go to Denny's. I was kind of up in the air about it myself, but figured it could be a new experience since I had not been there in quite some time.

As it turns out, this was probably one of the best visits to Denny's I have ever had. My food was fresh and tasted great; I had the sampler by the way. Also our server was above the usual Denny's quality. She was prompt and my drink was always full.

After an amazing late dinner, I decided I would pay for this meal and not just dine and ditch since the service was so good. This is where the adventure gets interesting.

We were standing in line at the cash register to pay for our meal. Lexie and I were doing some good people watching, as we often do, and having a good laugh. I noticed a lady staring in our direction as this was going on. I just assumed she was caught of guard by the laughing because that has been known to happen from time to time. It turns out it was not the laughing that had caught her attention, it was what we were wearing. I was wearing one of me EMT shirts just in case I needed to save a life while out an about, I wanted to be sure I was properly marked for the situation. Lexie happened to also be wearing an EMT shirt since she had just gotten off work and that is just what she had grabbed as we were walking out the door.

I approached the cash register and begin making my transaction with the cashier. While in this process, the lady who was giving us the eye approached Lexie. I decided to listen on the conversation. This lady assumed since we were EMT's we would be able to help her situation. She decided to ask Lexie what the best way to clean blood out of her house would be. You read that right.. how to clean up blood. Upon hearing this a few thoughts went through my head. For example, what kind of blood is this? Is it a stabbing blood or gun shot blood? And also, How much blood? One or two bodies?

Lexie was a bit stunned by the conversation and was a bit unsure of just how she should answer. Eventually she got the lady to believe that EMT's are not experts at cleaning up large amounts of blood and she would be better off seeking advice elsewhere.

Just thought I would let everyone know that Lexie and I have decided to put in an offer on a new townhouse. Hopefully all goes well.

Update: I added a link to some pics.

Update 2: They counter offered against our offer. Lexie and I decided it would be best to reject the offer and will move on and find something else later.

Both the Mormons and the Scientologists are upset about leaks of confidential church documents posted on Wikileaks.

Interesting article about how the LDS church is handling this situation.

I am just thinking about how bad it sucks to be back at work after such a nice vacation. We all had a sweet time in Portland this past week.

It is nice to be back home, I suppose, but that is only because I get my nice comfortable bed back. I wish Lexie would stop hogging all the kettle corn that we brought home though.

I am putting together some videos of our trip, so I will post those as soon as I get them ready. Also I imagine, between the four of us, there will be some pictures posted in the near future.

RSS Section Added To The Site

I have built a new RSS Feed section for the site. It is still new and I will continue to work on it. I put it up so people could enjoy it and have an easy place to keep track of all their RSS Feeds. Feel free to add your favorites to the site so others can enjoy them too.

For those of you unfamiliar with RSS, it stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically what it does is go to your favorite websites and grab the latest content. Then you can display it all in one spot to make it easy to find the new stuff you want to go look at.
