Tricky times in the land of moon streaking

I just wrote a whole big article and then lost it so I will just keep this short.

My tonsils are finally staring to get better but I still have a ways to go.

This morning I woke up to some serious pain on my left side running down into my groin. Long story short, I couldn't take the pain had my awesome wife drive me the hospital. I went and did a quick CT scan on myself and found out I had a 4 x 7 mm kidney stone sitting my left ureter.

The ER doctor quickly gave me some wonderful meds to make me feel better. The urologist wants to do a procedure called lithotripsy (a big lazer that uses shock waves)to break up the stone. The lazer is inserted through the urethra, bladder, and up the ureter. The machine will be here on Wednsday (this is lucky since it only comes here once a month).

I have been given some stronger pain meds (stronger than the ones for my tonsils). to hopefully tide me over until then. If these are not strong enough to curve the pain I will have to be admitted into the hospital for pain management. So cross your fingers.

This has been a rough month and look forward to getting things back to normal again. My wife has been wonderful about helping me out where she can. She happily goes to the store, fills my prescriptions, calls doctor's offices, and fills out the paperwork that she can. She of course does other things but these are just a few of them. These things are very helpful and am very thankful for all that she does.

I wont know what time on Wednesday until sometime tomorrow.

Thanks you all for all of your help and support.

George

Astana Banned From All ASO Events

Team Astana has been banned from participating in all events organized by the Amaury Sports Organization (ASO). This includes big races such as Paris-Nice and most importantly The Tour de France. If you have not followed the off-season this may not mean much. However, Astana is where a lot of the Discovery riders signed after Discovery disbanded at the end of the season. American Levi Leipheimer, last year's Tour winner Alberto Contador, and multiple Tour podium finisher Andreas Kloden all ride for Astana. ASO cites the last two years of doping problems with team Astana as the reason for the ban. However, the team was completely reorganized after last year with Johan Brunyeel taking over the reigns and instituting a very strict anti-doping program. This wasn't enough for ASO, and now the Tour will be without some of the top riders in the world that have not violated doping regulations.

No, BG not what you think. I just wanted to let everyone know that yesterday I found out that I would soon be going under the knife. As you all know, I am more prone to catching the neighborhood cold than most. After my last sore throat and immediately to follow some swollen tonsils I finally decided (with a little convincing from the wife of course) it was time to visit an ENT (ear nose and throat) doctor to see what his thoughts were.

Yesterday, after one quick look in the back of my throat the doctor made a comment similer to "yep they look crappy." As I proceeded to tell him that he was witnessing a good day with my, well as i like to call them, "throat boyz" (or tonsils)he agreed that it might be a good idea to remove them from their home.

I am, of course, a little nervous but have high hopes that this is the right decision. Hopefully, in the future this will reduce my time spent being sick. I am totally open any form (well almost any form. Again, BG don't get any ideas) of comfort one feels they need to provide. I am not above accepting money, material items, and for you local folk: massages are very comforting, soothing, and/or pain relieving.

Surgery is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2008 and I am expected to be out of service for 2.5 to 3 weeks.

We tried this recipe the other night & it was pretty good. It has a good kick to it so I thought you guys might like it. If you don't want to use spaghetti squash you could use glass noodles (really thin rice noodles). It was very fast & easy to make.

It's finally Official. Yesterday the city of Saint George approved our business license for Dookie Duty LLC.

We are hoping to actually start doing jobs by the first of march. We still have quite a bit of work to do getting all of the contracts and everything worked out but it seems to be coming together.

Salt Lake City police reported that an out-of-town man was treated at a local hospital on Dec. 1 after being beaten up by gang members. The man had earlier mentioned to the gangbangers that "Utah gangs" are not as tough as those from his hometown. [Deseret Morning News, 12-3-07]

I put some photos of the wind damage in the gallery b/c I'm not smart enough to figure out how to link to them. Our fence is down in several places, but at least we didn't loose siding like our neighbor! Our trees used to stand up straight; not so much anymore!

RSS Section Added To The Site

I have built a new RSS Feed section for the site. It is still new and I will continue to work on it. I put it up so people could enjoy it and have an easy place to keep track of all their RSS Feeds. Feel free to add your favorites to the site so others can enjoy them too.

For those of you unfamiliar with RSS, it stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically what it does is go to your favorite websites and grab the latest content. Then you can display it all in one spot to make it easy to find the new stuff you want to go look at.
