This has been an okay week as far as house progress goes. Yesterday I finished wrapping the two columns on our front patio. Let me tell you...this has been one of my least favorite parts of the process. The rockwork has gone ok but putting the rock on the columns has been very time consuming. 90% of the pieces had to be cut in one way or another (not to mention the constant circle I got to run around each column). I hope to finish the upper part tomorrow. Once that is done we are ready for concrete (the driveway, front walkway, and the skirt around the house). Once the concrete is done we just have to lay the foot of rock across the bottom of the house.
The cabinet guy made his appearance on friday of this week. He installed a good portion of the cabinets and plans to be back about the middle of this coming week to finish. I hear that the cabinets that have been put in went in well. There was a slight flaw in the design for the masterbath cabinet. The sinks wouldn't fit so the cabinet guy is rebuilding the inside of the cabinet.
This week the goal is to first finish the rockwork (monday morning). We are then going to get the front door finished so we can put it back up and lock the house at night (this will make me feel a lot better). While the clear coats are drying on the door we are going to get the wood floor down. The painter decided he wanted us to get all the base board down and then he would come do everything at once. (originally he wanted to paint baseboard that goes where the tile and wood flooring is, before it was put down. He was then going to come touch it up.

| Night Out To The ShowSubmitted by: Brian Hadley2007-09-09GW, Britt, Lexie and myself had quite the experience at the comedy show last night. All you that weren't there really missed out. We went and saw Larry the Cable Guy Live in Mesquite. The show was a good time and pretty funny (which it should be.. being a comedy show and all).
Then we ended the evening with a spectacular trip to the local Denny's.. not the crappy one off Boulevard though, the good one across town just off of Bluff Street.

I am currently working on updating the photo gallery to be more user-friendly and more appealing. Also, it has been requested that I come up with a sort of calendar section for the site where users can post important dates such as: birthdays, anniversaries, vacations, or whatever you want. I am working on this. There are some features for your user accounts in the works too. I will release those periodically as I complete them.

This week we started laying the rock on the front of our house. Things are going ok and we are starting to get the hang of it (this is our first attempt). We hope to finish the upper part by the end of next week. We are leaving a foot off the bottom so we can lay it right to the concrete when it gets done.
The previous week I spent building shelves in all the closets. I actually enjoyed this job and am pleased with the way they turned out.
The painter is supposed to come in and paint the base board, doors, and closet shelves very soon. Once he gets done we can finish staining the front door. After we can get the door out of the front room, we can start laying the wood flooring. The cabinet guy told me he was going to try and start putting cabinets in next week. One those are in we can start getting people in to finish things like plumbing, tile and countertops.
I have posted progress pictures of the rock work and pictures of the closet shelves in the photo gallery.

| Becoming a True NerdSubmitted by: Brian Hadley2007-08-24Well it is pretty much official that I am going to be moving on to true nerd status and become a programmer. They finally hired someone to replace me in the Graphic Design department so that I can leave. The new guy, or as I like to call him NOOB, will be starting on Monday. That means I get to move into my new office either today or on Monday, it just depends when I decided to tear down my computer and move it, but I will probably want a break later today so I imagine that is when I will take care of business.
On another note, I started school again this week.. did I mention that school sucks.. what kind of teacher gives homework on the first day, its like I'm working towards a Masters or something. | Cow Really Does Jump Over The Moon!!!!!!Submitted by: georgehadley2007-08-19
Hello all, GW here. First off I was just pullin a gag. A cow did not really jump over the moon. Get real. They can barley jump over a house.
I am just chillin down here in mesquite at the old hospital and thought I would say hello.
I have been looking around on the net and have found some pics I thought were interesting and/or funny. I thought I would share a few of them with ya'll. (check out the photo gallery)
I have created a new photo album of my stolen picture collection. I realize that there are a million more out there so feel free to add any you feel to be worthy.
I did find one particular image of interest though. It an old photo of BG back in high school. Some people marched in the band. BG had his own ideas. This does explain a few things.
I don't even know is anyone ever visits this site. If you do, some of these images just might get you through a bad day. If you don't....well...you suck!!!! Smell ya later.
P.S. we need more people submitting news, I enjoy seeing what everyone is up to.

Just a quick update on the house. The stucco, soffit and facia, most the tile, and the roof are finished. We are almost finished setting doors. "Setting doors sucks more than I remember." We hope to get closet shelves built and the base board we can done in the next week or two. After that the painter can come again and then we can focus on more of the finish work.
Our rock for the front of the house should be here next week. I can't wait to give that a try.
There are several things left to do. (plumbing, wood floor, cabinets, countertops,carpet, concrete, etc.) but we are getting closer as the days go by.

We put in our exterior doors today.
The stucco guys needed them done so they could move forward. There were some issues with the sizes framed for the doors. It was a big pain, but I think we got things worked out.
I put 5-6 new pics in the photo gallery. Our front door is huge. I love it!!!!
FYI Simpsons fans, be sure to check out the new simpsons movie. I give it a thumbs up.

I put it up so people could enjoy it and have an easy place to keep track of all their RSS Feeds. Feel free to add your favorites to the site so others can enjoy them too.
For those of you unfamiliar with RSS, it stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically what it does is go to your favorite websites and grab the latest content. Then you can display it all in one spot to make it easy to find the new stuff you want to go look at.
