What's That Smell At The Olive Garden?Submitted by: Brian Hadley2009-07-28 This past weekend Lexie and myself decided that it would be nice to go out to dinner at the Olive Garden. We may have been wrong, because it turned out to be quite the experience.
Everything started out fine as we were seated quite quickly upon our arrival to a booth at the restaurant. Then things changed. We started hearing these noises from the table to the side of us. It was a familiar sound that we had both heard before. There were two gentlemen sitting with their back to us at the table and one of them seemed to have quite the build up of gas because he just could not seem to quit releasing his flatchulence. At first we thought it was the older of the two and we thought he would move on with his meal after this great release. We later found it was the younger of the two, probably around 30 years of age, because he had decided that he was going to be as loud as he could and really push this gas out of his body throughout his entire meal. Our table, being down wind, caught the brute force of these releases.
The intense smell and disruption forced us to contact the manager of the Olive Garden so that we could enjoy our meal without having to hold back our own purges. We tried to get the manager to ask him to just stop, but she refused. Instead we had her move us to a new table.
At our new table we were actually able to enjoy our meal. And to our surprise, after moving us the hostess immediately sat another couple at the table we had just moved from. We watched humorously as the other couple started to make faces and take a stunning stare at the table to the side of them. |
