Steve's New Roof

Let me begin by saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! We had a wonderful weekend that wouldn't have been possible without your help. We are so grateful! For those who were unable to come, here's what happened:
Thursday night & Friday Steve pulled all the old shingles off.
Saturday we removed the old tar paper, all the nails (thanks to Lexie & BG), and laid the new water & ice block.
Sunday we rested
Monday we attached the batons for the first row, made the ridge vent, sealed around the chimney & cooler and started the flashing. Oh, and chalked 3/4 of the roof.
Tuesday we finished chalking and waited for the tile company to deliver the tile.
Wednesday we nailed on 11 & a half rows of tile with the associated flashing.
I will try to get some photos posted too. My sister took most of the pictures so I'll have to wait until she gets them to me.

Thank you again for your help!!!

Avery Rae Hadley

We would like to welcome our newest addition to the family. Avery Rae Hadley finally arrived at 10:52 pm on 5/18/2009. She appears to be doing very well and thankfully loves to sleep (for now). She was being a little stubborn with her arrival. After 14 hours plus of labor we decided to help her through the power of a cesarean section.

Brittney is very tired and sore but overall has handled things well and is recovering comfortably.

Avery's Stats:

Name: Avery Rae Hadley
Weight: 6 pounds 14 ounces
Length: 20.5 inches
Eyes: dark blue
Hair: small amount of light hair on back of her head.
Delivery Time: 10:52 pm 5/18/2009

There are several pictures posted in the photo gallery. We will continue to add more as we get them.

Thanks for everyone's concern and help.

Lori's Gallbladder

Lori's gallbladder is gone. Never to be seen again. It is a good thing this was a one time experience. The gallbladder will not come back. When they say it will be a few minutes, you should ask if that is a few minutes to you or a few minutes to them. Their minutes turn into hours and more hours. 2:00 really means 7:00. I finally made it home about 3:00 AM. My bed is a lot nicer than theirs. If anyone complains about the size of the futon I may exchange it for a hospital bed just for you. If you roll over you might fall off.

I am moving around and doing well. I have already started shopping again. As long as I have someone to carry the purchases.

Well, I went to my doctors appointment today and he has decided to induce me on May 18th.(this is tentative to whether my cervix cooperates and continues to soften) They already have me scheduled to go into the hospital on that day, so all I have to do is wait for the hospital to call and tell me when they have an extra bed open. We are both pretty excited. We are very ready to see this little girl. Oh and it will be heaven to reclaim my habit of sleeping on my stomach, bending over without getting nauseous, getting in and out of a car easier, rolling over in bed without it being a monumental task, and no more heartburn. That is my exicting news for the week!!

Don't Eat The Foxtails

We learned yesterday that it is not a very good idea to eat the Foxtail weeds in our new yard. Pumpkin decided that she would take it upon herself to test this for us. She ate a bunch, and the little spiky things got lodged in her throat and in her tonsils. Because of this, she began to start coughing and gagging trying to dislodge the spikys. When this failed to work she resorted to an ancient dog remedy for problems.. eating grass. She looked throughout the yard and saw plenty of green stuff to eat so she started going to town. The problem here is that we don't have any grass in our yard yet.. just more Foxtails. As you can imagine this did not really help the problem.

When Lexie and I discovered the problem we took Pumpkin to the Animal ER in SG Town and a $400 surgery later she is back home recovering. She is not allowed outside without supervision right now though because she still seems to think eating the weeds will help her sore throat.

Lexie and I just finished signing all of the paper work for our new house and gave them a big check for the down payment. We should probably get the keys on Monday and be ready to start moving in.

RSS Section Added To The Site

I have built a new RSS Feed section for the site. It is still new and I will continue to work on it. I put it up so people could enjoy it and have an easy place to keep track of all their RSS Feeds. Feel free to add your favorites to the site so others can enjoy them too.

For those of you unfamiliar with RSS, it stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically what it does is go to your favorite websites and grab the latest content. Then you can display it all in one spot to make it easy to find the new stuff you want to go look at.
